The Wildauer family

The hotel history

The Wildauerhof family hotel looks back on a successful history. We constantly strive to make holidays in Walchsee a little bit more special for our guests. The hotel was opened in 1965 by Josef Wildauer, the current host’s father, and his wife Anna. Back then it was called “Guesthouse Tyrol Sport”. In 1970 they added an outdoor swimming pool. In 1982 Josef Junior and his wife Elisabeth took over the hotel in Kaiserwinkl and kept adding extensions to the building over the years. Since 2021, Christian has been running the hotel.

This is what we have added on for our guests over the past few decades:

• 1983: Lift, bar, pine tree parlour
• 1989: Additional rooms (2nd and 3rd floor above the indoor swimming pool)
• 1996: Hofer parlour and wine cellar
• 1999: Reception
• 2000: Restaurant, winter garden, new rooms
• 2004: Renovation of the indoor swimming pool
• 2011: Sauna, bar
• 2014: Suite
• 2016: Jägerstube and change of the balcony doors
• 2017: Rooms of the category Standard new
• 2019 Sun terrace, view sauna, new rooms
• 2020 balcony partition
• 2021:new curtains and couches in the deluxe rooms

Your hosts at the Wildauerhof

Josef and Elisabeth

Josef and Elisabeth were the Hotel Wildauerhof’s innkeepers from 1982 to 2021. Josef’s kingdom is the kitchen, where he likes to prepare delicious fish dishes that he himself also enjoys. Elisabeth manages the office and helps with the service whenever she is needed. On their days off Josef and Elisabeth like to go hiking, running or swimming. In the winter they keep fit by going skiing, cross-country skiing, sledding or ski touring.

Christian

Christian is a trained chef and has followed in his father’s footsteps as a host. He is responsible for the kitchen area, where he fulfils his duties with a warm and open manner. As a trained and experienced sommelier, he is also our expert when it comes to wine. Christian inherited the athletic gene from his parents and loves to bike, climb, hike or mountain bike in the summer. In the winter you will find him on the ski slopes, on ski tours or snowshoeing. Of course, his family with girlfriend Martina and sons Raphael, Philip with dog Balu now also keep him on his toes.

Viktoria

Viktoria finished Hospitality Management School in St. Johann in Tyrol and now also works at the Wildauerhof. She functions as a “jack of all trades” and helps out where she is needed, no matter if it is in the office, in the kitchen or in the service area. In the summer her greatest passion is the flowers around the Wildauerhof. Viktoria also loves to spend time outside swimming, skiing and hiking.
